Lumbini
Buddha's birthplace.
One of four pilgrimage sites for Buddhists, Lumbini is known as the place where Gautama Buddha was born. Before his death, he explicitly cited four locations for future pilgrimages. Lumbini is one of them
Buddhists who show up at Lumbini usually spend their time in one place: the Maya Devi temple which is the temple for Buddha's mother. Next to the temple is a sacred pool called the Puskarni. According to them, Maya Devi bathed in the pool before giving birth to Buddha.
Overall, Lumbini is a place of pilgrimage for followers of Buddhism to seek enlightenment or to simply revel in the peace and quiet.
